FAQs
What is the average budget for a Custom Design Experience?
The average budget for a Bowie Rae Custom Experience ranges depending on the design and the length of the journey we take. The average Custom Signature Experience begins from $6000 AUD including quality Design time and sketches, patten construction, sample fittings, fabric shopping / selections, production costs and shipping / taxes. If you wanted to learn more about how to start bringing your ideas to life, get in touch with Mannie for a free consultation.
Is there a showroom we can go to try on any pieces?
Bowie Rae has been moving all around the World. We opened our first studio in Woonona 2 years ago and have decided to close the doors to create a more Virtual Experience for an expanded showroom.
We still have a variety of options to meet, either Virtually or to physically ‘try on’ a few conceptual ideas to help bring your concepts to life.
To learn more about these options - contact Mannie for your free consultation.
How long does the average production time take for a piece to be made?
Bowie Rae has created a small, intimate team of highly experienced women who absolutely love their art form. We made decisions to keep our family small and all on shore in Australia. This means, the creation of your Dream piece will take a bit of time, because we put in a whole lotta love!
Average production time ranges from 5-7 months for a Custom piece, depending on how long the first half of the journey takes.
If it is for your Wedding Day, we always suggest starting aCustom Design around 12months before the Big Day, although, we can always organise a Priority Rush Order if needed - this is the advantage of having such a small team committed to the quality of their art form.
I absolutely love a piece from your collection but can’t get my size in the sample sale. Are you taking last orders?
Love a piece from our Bowie Rae collections and don’t want to miss out on having one made just for you, we are taking last minute orders only for the next 3 months before we end the production line on any of our old collections. Get in touch for a free consultation if you feel this could be you.
Are your stockists still taking orders?
You can still order Bowie Rae through our stockists. Learn more about where you can find BOWIE RAE Worldwide here.
Sizing
We strongly advise getting measured by a professional to ensure no mistakes are made. Please follow the sizing chart and how to measure guide below to help take your measurements correctly. Please note, all measurements should be taken in centimetres.
How to Measure guide
Bust size: Measure around your chest, at the fullest point of the bust (not under the bust).
Waist size: To find your waist, stand up straight, bend at the waist to one side. The crease that forms is where your natural waist is located, it's the smallest part of your torso. Measure around your waist.
Hip size: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of the hips.
Skirt length: Take into account the shoes you will be wearing on the day. Measure from the centre of your waist to the floor.
Sizing
BOWIE RAE is a ready-to-wear label and offers made to order garments ranging from size 6 - 16. These sizes are specifically custom to BOWIE RAE so please refer to our BOWIE RAE sizing chart before you place your order and follow the ‘How to Measure’ guide to help select the best fit for you (please consider your shoes when taking your height measurement).
In between sizes?
If you are in-between sizes, we always recommend going a size up as it is always easier to make something smaller as opposed to making it bigger. Although this is a ready to wear range, take comfort knowing that we have have spent many hours in the workshop making each garment by hand, with love and care. They have each been fit and refit so many times, we know you will love the way they feel when you slip them on. However, note that you may need to make some adjustments upon purchasing as this is still ready to wear so please refer to the sizing chart and ‘how to measure’ guide to make sure you choose the absolute right fit.
Still unsure of your sizing?
We understand that this is a huge decision to make, so please feel free to contact us directly at hello@bowierae.com about any sizing or styling concerns you may have.
